Ahyan Zaman

Ahyan is a singer, actor, and dancer from Fremont, CA. He first graced the stage in the Original Play Bloom at the Centerville Junior High School Theatre as the lead role, Jave, and he’s been captivated by the stage ever since. He went on to play Francisco Flamenco in the Original Play A Path Forward to finish his last year at the Centerville Junior High School Theatre.

He was then invited to perform with the Starstruck Theatre Company after participating in an amazing masterclass with Kristin Stokes of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical as a part of the company’s summer masterclass series. His first musical with Starstruck Theatre was an online and in-person hybrid musical, The Addams Family, where he played the role of Mal Beineke. He then performed twice more with the company, playing The Duke of Weselton in Frozen Jr. and The Bishop of Digne in Les Misérables.

After performing in both 2022 season shows at Starstruck Theatre he portrayed the hot-headed Director Lloyd Dallas in the comedic farce Noises Off at Washington High School’s Husky Theatre. After a successful fall play, he went on to represent the Washington High School Drama Department at the Lenaea High School Theatre at Folsom Lake College; where he was awarded the Gold Level Musical Theatre Solo in a category of 142 contestants in the Western United States region. He finished his High School Theatre career by performing as Gomez Addams in The Addams Family with the Irvington Conservatory Theatre at Irvington High School.

The summer before his Senior year he was admitted into UCLA’s Musical Theatre Summer Intensive where he studied acting with Alicia Sedwick, singing with Ross Chitwood, and ballet with Natsuo Tomita. As a part of the Summer Intensive, he also performed as The Baker in the UCLA Musical Theatre Summer Intensive’s production of Into The Woods, directed by UCLA Lecturer and Los Angeles’ La Mirada Theatre Director Jeff Maynard.

He is honored to now be studying at the University of Miami as a member of the BFA Musical Theatre Class of 2028.
